The big news in the 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup is the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system. Utilizing a bright full-color seven-inch LED screen that has 800 x 480 pixel resolution, the highly customizable Ride Command system gives riders unprecedented control over the information displays while offering extensive capabilities—GPS, phone, radio, and sound. You can read more about the Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system in this review of the 2017 Indian Roadmaster.

Now, let's take a look at what's new in the 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup:

2017 Indian Roadmaster

The sole member of the 2017 Indian Touring line, the Roadmaster is the company's flagship. Ready to ride coast-to-coast on a moment's notice, the Roadmaster features the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system, along with high-end features such as individually heated seats, power windshield, keyless ignition with remote locking of the storage compartments (38 gallon capacity), and adjustable passenger floorboards. As with all but the Scout models, the Indian Roadmaster is powered by the muscular Thunder Stroke 111 engine. Available in five colors (three of them two-tone), the Roadmaster price starts at $28,999.

2017 Indian Springfield

2017 Indian Springfield

Indian was born in Springfield, and this big bagger embodies the Indian Motorcycle spirt. Its touring credentials cannot be challenged, yet it's ready for urban duty thanks to the easy detachability of the bags and windshield. Three headlights, cruise control, remote locking hard bags, ABS, and leather seating are just some of the standard features on this premium motorcycle. Only the colors are changed for 2017, and you can get the Indian Springfield in Steel Gray/Burgundy Metallic (shown) or Blue Sapphire/Star Silver. 2017 Indian Springfield price: From 20,999 MSRP.

2017 Indian Chieftain and Chieftain Dark Horse

The other motorcycle to benefit from the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system is the Indian Chieftain (top) and his matte black brother, the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse. Designed for those who want a serious touring machine, but do not require the storage of a full dresser, the Chieftain goes without a top box and an abbreviated windshield, while the Dark Horse has just a solo seat for the ultimate in touring attitude. Most of the Roadmaster's features are there, so you can tour bagger-style to your heart's content. You can get the Chieftain in three solid colors, and your choice of two two-tone paint schemes, with the 2017 Indian Chieftain's price starting at $23,999 MSRP. As you'd expect, the 2017 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse comes in one color, with a base price of $21,999.

Yes, you can get an Indian bagger for a price under $20,000, and the Chief Vintage is it. A beautiful motorcycle with Desert Tan Genuine Leather and plenty of fringe, the Chief Vintage is a classic bagger with soft leather bags and a windshield. The Thunder Stroke 111 motor moves things along smartly, while a tall windshield and triple headlights keep you comfortable and safe. There are three retro color combinations available with Ivory Cream as a base, as well as a wide range of Indian accessories to personalize the Chief Vintage as needed.

2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse

The two bikes in the Indian Cruiser line are closely related, with color and attitude separating them. Sans bags, wind protection and sporting a defiant solo seat, the 2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse are stripped down cruisers that still have plenty of features. Most importantly, the 2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse get the big Thunder Stroke 111 motor, and the long-stroke air-cooled engine is pushing a bike that weighs just 751 pounds (claimed dry). Available in two two-tone color combinations, the starting price of the 2017 Indian Chief Classic is $18,499 MSRP, while the matte-black only 2017 Indian Chief Dark Horse can be had for a MSRP of $17,499.

2017 Indian Scout and Scout Sixty2017-Indian-Scout-First-Look 2017-Indian-Scout-Sixty-First-Look

Although these little hotrods are the least expensive motorcycles in the Indian lineup, the 2017 Indian Scout and smaller-displacement Scout Sixty are hardly entry-level machines. The Indian Scout uses a 69 cubic inch liquid-cooled powerplant that puts out 100 horsepower through a six-speed gearbox and loves to rev. Utilizing the same chassis, the Scout Sixty's motor is 60 cubic inches, and gets by with a five-speed transmission. Given its sweet nature, some people prefer the $8999 ($9999 with ABS) Scout Sixty over the full-power $11,299 Scout (add $1k for ABS, again). The 2017 Indian Scout non-ABS version comes in three colors, while the Scout ABS is available in Burgundy Metallic and a choice of two two-tone color combinations. The 2017 Indian Scout Sixty ABS is only available in Indian Motorcycle Red (shown), which the non-ABS version can be had in Thunder Black, as well as Pearl White.
