2017-Indian-Motorcycle-Line-Up-First-Look-Review

The big news in the 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup is the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system. Utilizing a bright full-color seven-inch LED screen that has 800 x 480 pixel resolution, the highly customizable Ride Command system gives riders unprecedented control over the information displays while offering extensive capabilities—GPS, phone, radio, and sound. You can read more about the Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system in this review of the 2017 Indian Roadmaster.

Now, let's take a look at what's new in the 2017 Indian Motorcycle lineup:

2017 Indian Roadmaster

Todd Williams Photography

The sole member of the 2017 Indian Touring line, the Roadmaster is the company's flagship. Ready to ride coast-to-coast on a moment's notice, the Roadmaster features the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system, along with high-end features such as individually heated seats, power windshield, keyless ignition with remote locking of the storage compartments (38 gallon capacity), and adjustable passenger floorboards. As with all but the Scout models, the Indian Roadmaster is powered by the muscular Thunder Stroke 111 engine. Available in five colors (three of them two-tone), the Roadmaster price starts at $28,999.

2017 Indian Springfield

2017 Indian Springfield

Indian was born in Springfield, and this big bagger embodies the Indian Motorcycle spirt. Its touring credentials cannot be challenged, yet it's ready for urban duty thanks to the easy detachability of the bags and windshield. Three headlights, cruise control, remote locking hard bags, ABS, and leather seating are just some of the standard features on this premium motorcycle. Only the colors are changed for 2017, and you can get the Indian Springfield in Steel Gray/Burgundy Metallic (shown) or Blue Sapphire/Star Silver. 2017 Indian Springfield price: From 20,999 MSRP.

2017 Indian Chieftain and Chieftain Dark Horse

The other motorcycle to benefit from the new Indian Motorcycle Ride Command system is the Indian Chieftain (top) and his matte black brother, the Indian Chieftain Dark Horse. Designed for those who want a serious touring machine, but do not require the storage of a full dresser, the Chieftain goes without a top box and an abbreviated windshield, while the Dark Horse has just a solo seat for the ultimate in touring attitude. Most of the Roadmaster's features are there, so you can tour bagger-style to your heart's content. You can get the Chieftain in three solid colors, and your choice of two two-tone paint schemes, with the 2017 Indian Chieftain's price starting at $23,999 MSRP. As you'd expect, the 2017 Indian Chieftain Dark Horse comes in one color, with a base price of $21,999.

2017 Indian Chief Vintage2017 Indian Chief Vintage First Look

Yes, you can get an Indian bagger for a price under $20,000, and the Chief Vintage is it. A beautiful motorcycle with Desert Tan Genuine Leather and plenty of fringe, the Chief Vintage is a classic bagger with soft leather bags and a windshield. The Thunder Stroke 111 motor moves things along smartly, while a tall windshield and triple headlights keep you comfortable and safe. There are three retro color combinations available with Ivory Cream as a base, as well as a wide range of Indian accessories to personalize the Chief Vintage as needed.

2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse

2017 Indian Chief Classic First Look 2017 Indian Chief Dark Horse First Look

The two bikes in the Indian Cruiser line are closely related, with color and attitude separating them. Sans bags, wind protection and sporting a defiant solo seat, the 2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse are stripped down cruisers that still have plenty of features. Most importantly, the 2017 Indian Chief Classic and Chief Dark Horse get the big Thunder Stroke 111 motor, and the long-stroke air-cooled engine is pushing a bike that weighs just 751 pounds (claimed dry). Available in two two-tone color combinations, the starting price of the 2017 Indian Chief Classic is $18,499 MSRP, while the matte-black only 2017 Indian Chief Dark Horse can be had for a MSRP of $17,499.

2017 Indian Scout and Scout Sixty2017-Indian-Scout-First-Look 2017-Indian-Scout-Sixty-First-Look

Although these little hotrods are the least expensive motorcycles in the Indian lineup, the 2017 Indian Scout and smaller-displacement Scout Sixty are hardly entry-level machines. The Indian Scout uses a 69 cubic inch liquid-cooled powerplant that puts out 100 horsepower through a six-speed gearbox and loves to rev. Utilizing the same chassis, the Scout Sixty's motor is 60 cubic inches, and gets by with a five-speed transmission. Given its sweet nature, some people prefer the $8999 ($9999 with ABS) Scout Sixty over the full-power $11,299 Scout (add $1k for ABS, again). The 2017 Indian Scout non-ABS version comes in three colors, while the Scout ABS is available in Burgundy Metallic and a choice of two two-tone color combinations. The 2017 Indian Scout Sixty ABS is only available in Indian Motorcycle Red (shown), which the non-ABS version can be had in Thunder Black, as well as Pearl White.

Highest Horsepower Car Forza Horizon 4

Highest Horsepower Car Forza Horizon 4

Sports cars are some of the best cars to drive in Forza Horizon 5. Often, they combine the high performance found in racecars and the luxury of expensive sedans. This combination of raw power and high-end luxury makes sports cars incredibly fun to drive — and it makes you feel glamorous.

Ranking sports cars is tricky because it is not all about speed, nor is it entirely about handling or looks. Sports cars are all about balance, and the best sports cars can weave everything together. Therefore, these will rank in order of their performance class.

10 2019 Aston Martin Vantage

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (801) RWD 7.0 6.7 6.0 6.4 6.1 4.6

The 2019 Aston Martin Vantage is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. Its design is simple, elegant, aerodynamic, and powerful. It is a stunning vehicle and looks incredible on the road.

The Vantage is not only about looks, though, because it also has a 503 horsepower V-8 engine. This horsepower means that this car can hit a top speed of 195 MPH and a 0-60 in 3.6 seconds. There's a reason James Bond loves his Aston Martins, and in Forza Horizon 5, you can be James Bond too.

9 2011 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (804) RWD 7.6 6.5 5.8 6.2 6.4 4.4

Gullwing doors are a rarity in modern sports cars today. That said, Mercedes-Benz stuck to their guns and made them cool again. There is something fashionable about how these doors look when they open. This design language says the SLS is about both elegance and racing.

Under the hood of the Mercedes-Benz is a 564 horsepower engine. This power means you can easily hit its top speed of 196 MPH and get a 0-60 time of 3.3 seconds. So, why not go fast and look good doing it?

8 2018 Ferrari Portofino

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (814) RWD 7.8 6.5 6.3 6.8 6.8 4.7

The 2018 Ferrari Portofino is one of Ferrari's best sports cars. This grand touring Ferrari is sharp, aggressive, and gorgeous — a combination that will make your road trip a magical experience. The Portofino has a 591 horsepower engine and a top speed of 199 MPH.

What's equally as impressive is the Portofino's 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds. Ferrari is one of the best automakers out there, and you cannot go wrong with any of their vehicles.

7 2019 Porsche 911 Carrera S

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (819) RWD 7.4 7.4 6.4 6.9 7.9 4.5

Porsche is perhaps the best sports car maker, and the 2019 911 Carrera S demonstrates their continued dominance in the field. The Porsche 911 Carrera S is great if you are new to Forza and want a starter sports car.

What sets Porsche apart from the rest is its ability to make a great track car. The 2019 911 Carrera has only 414 Horsepower, 0-60 in 3.5 seconds, and a top speed of 191, but it handles corners like a champ. It is perfectly balanced, like all sports cars should be.

6 2020 McLaren GT

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (823) RWD 7.4 6.5 6.6 4.3 5.3 4.6

Owning a McLaren makes you cool. The 2020 McLaren GT is no exception and is one of the best-looking cars they have ever released. The GT doesn't just look awesome, but its engine is also fantastic. This engine produces 612 horsepower, which ranks it among some of the most powerful engines.

With power like that, it is no surprise that the 2020 McLaren GT can reach a top speed of 203 MPH and do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.

5 2018 TVR Griffith

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (825) RWD 7.2 7.7 5.9 6.3 6.9 4.2

The 2018 TVR Griffith would likely lose to the 2020 McLaren GT on the drag strip, probably because Griffith only has 500 horsepower — but that's not the entire story. On a track, the Griffith would probably close the gap, potentially surpassing the McLaren because it can maneuver around turns better.

For its speed, the Griffith can reach a top speed of 200 MPH and do 0-60 in 4 seconds. It is certainly not the highest speed and acceleration that ever seen, but it does a better job balancing other attributes, like handling.

4 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (835) RWD 7.8 6.6 5.8 6.2 6.9 4.5

The 715 horsepower that the 2019 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has is James Bond-approved. This mean-looking sports car has a great design and is probably one of the most beautiful on this list.

If you are looking for a stunning statement piece in your garage, Aston Martin has got you covered with the DBS Superleggera. This beauty can also hit a top speed of 211 MPH and do 0-60 in 3.4 seconds.

3 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (837) RWD 7.5 7.0 6.4 7.0 7.2 4.5

If you want an absolute unit of a sports car, check out the 2017 Mercedes- AMG GT R. This car has such a distinct shape that it makes quite the statement, which is hard to do in the sports car market.

The 2017 Mercedes-AMG GT R also has an impressive engine, which outputs a healthy 577 horsepower. That horsepower means that the GT R can reach a top speed of 198 MPH and go from 0-60 in 3.4 seconds.

2 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (878) RWD 7.9 7.5 6.2 6.6 7.6 4.0

The 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast goes super fast. Oddly enough, this is not the worst name Ferrari has ever given one of their cars. But names are one thing, and performance is another. Ferrari is the king of racecars, and their sports cars are some of the most powerful on the market.

The Superfast, for instance, has 800 horsepower under the hood. This impressive horsepower gives the Superfast a top speed of 211 MPH and a 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds.

1 2015 Ferrari F12TDF

Class Drivetrain Speed Handling Acceleration Launch Braking Offroad
S1 (884) RWD 8.8 7.6 6.5 7.0 8.4 4.8

The 2015 Ferrari F12TDF undoubtedly has the worst name of any sports car on this list. But, the F12TDF can reach a top speed of 211 MPH, making it one of the fastest cars on this list. Additionally, it clocks a 0-60 time in 2.9 seconds, which is deadly impressive.

These impressive stats are likely due to the engine's impressive 769 horsepower. All the while, the F12DTF retains its track performance and can handle a turn like nobody's business.

Are they "sportier" feeling than the old chassis? How's power feel compared to old?

According to a Dirt Trax review the chassis is better then the old one. I can't tell if thats correct, this is my first AC :). Engine is the 'old' 700. Drove a 565cc Landfighfer Conquistador before this one and my XR is much more powerfull so I am happy with the hp. Very comfortable to drive for hours.

I see your from aurora so your not to far from Duluth if you get down this way I know Rj has a demo 700 there I'm sure you could take it for a ride. I know it's not the best place to test but might help get you an idea how it handles. I've been meaning to take it for a ride just haven't had time yet. But I've heard good things.

We ended up buying the one at RJ and we love it so far! We are going to try to put as many miles on it as we can over the next few months.

I've got close to 300 miles on my XR 700 limited. I really like it so far. The power is pretty good for a single I wouldn't say its superb or anything. Machine could do around 65mph with the factory tires on it which is enough for me. Now with 28" silverbacks, my secondary clocked and my exhaust modded it will do about 53mph. The ride and handling and clearance is what I really like about it. With my tires and my springs cranked up I have 15.5" to my front skid plate, it also towers over all my buddies Can ams with similar mods.

Should have started a new post. But go through and check all your clamps and boots on your housing exhaust and intake. I had a 2014 that was missing the exhaust tube completly.

2013 Mercedes Benz Amg Vision Gran Turismo Concept

2013 Mercedes Benz Amg Vision Gran Turismo Concept

There are very few industries that are burdened by as many regulations and obnoxious mandates as the auto industry. How sweet would it be to live in a world in which engineers and designers penned sports cars as they saw fit, rather than bureaucrats? Of course, such a utopian universe exists: It's called Gran Turismo, and it's one of the most successful video games ever conceived. Mercedes-Benz AMG's freshly revealed Vision Gran Turismo concept will be featured in the sixth installment of the game, and proves just how glorious such an idyllic world can be.

The Vision Gran Turismo, product of Benz chief designer Gorden Wagener's team, debuts at the Los Angeles auto show as a full-scale model. As mentioned, the supercar will be integrated into Gran Turismo 6, which will be launched for PlayStation 3 on December 6. AMG's concept is the first of a series from a number of automakers that were approached by the game's producer, Kazunori Yamauchi.

MARC URBANO, THE MANUFACTURER

Provocatively styled, the Vision Gran Turismo recalls the Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrow race cars of the 1930s—a favorite era in automotive design for Wagener. The grille evokes the 1952 300SL race car, but features the brand's modern "diamond grille" texture. The classic proportions, with the long hood, gullwing doors, and low and wide tail, extrapolate the styling language of the outgoing SLS AMG. The lack of a rear window makes for an even tidier appearance.

But as classic as the Vision GT's shape is, there are a number of interesting and unusual styling elements, too. The door sills emit a reddish aura, the diamond grille is pocked with LEDs, and the taillamp is a singular thin horizontal strip. The air intake above the windshield and the release catches on the hood evoke history's racing cars, even if they may not have appeared on the Silver Arrows themselves.

Hinting at the power lurking beneath the strongly sculpted hood are no less than eight exhaust pipes—one for each cylinder—which exit out the back in a cluster engulfing the taillight. The Vision Gran Turismo is powered by AMG's 577-hp, 5.5-liter twin-turbo V-8, capable of producing 590 lb-ft of twist. The aluminum structure and carbon-fiber parts envisioned by AMG keep weight down to a claimed 3053 pounds—lower than the pipe-dream target weight declared during development of the McLaren SLR.

MARC URBANO, THE MANUFACTURER

The interior of the AMG Vision Gran Turismo features a gullwing-shaped dash, which Mercedes says makes the doors themselves appear to extend from it, and futuristic instrumentation presented on a glass surface. Further, Mercedes says that a number of controls are inspired by those of its Formula 1 cars, and the arrangement of the gauge cluster is reminiscent of the cockpit of a fighter jet.

Created with a disregard for real-world needs and regulation, the Mercedes-Benz AMG Vision Gran Turismo is available only to those with access to Gran Turismo 6. But it does provide a few clues as to the styling of the forthcoming GT AMG, the successor to the iconic SLS and the brand's future halo offering.
